Dr. Christoph Abermann

Dr. Christoph Abermann is a general practitioner and has been practicing in his own practice for almost 22 years. He is the head of training for medical homeopathy at the Austrian Medical College (ÄKH) and a founding member of the Vienna Student Initiative (SIH). He co-translated HL Chitkara’s book “Materia Medica der Gefühlssymptome.” He has also published numerous articles in the ZKH (Zeitschrift für Klassische Homöopathie) and other journals. Each time and in each of his seminars and webinars, Christoph Abermann inspires his audience with his clear and structured presentation style, as well as with his pleasant and friendly manner as a speaker. His 2022 Corona webinar was very well-founded and helped many homeopaths deal with this new disease.

Dr. Christoph Abermann and the “praxisbox”:

“I have been a private practitioner in Gmunden, Upper Austria, since 2001. I developed praxisbox because I couldn’t find any software that met my needs and requirements as a private practitioner. Therefore, around 2002, I began programming my own database solution based on the Filemaker program. Later, I had a graphic designer add visual enhancements. I primarily wanted to use the software only for myself and never intended to sell it. Only when more and more colleagues asked me to share the software did I decide to make it available to other private practitioners under the name “praxisbox.”

In a further step, I expanded the functionality of praxisbox by incorporating GOÄ and GebüH for German doctors and alternative practitioners. With the help of a programmer, I also added XML export for ELDA, QR codes on invoices, and the ICD-10 code. Since fax and email sick notes were discontinued, it also became necessary to adapt the sick notes section of praxisbox to the new circumstances, i.e., a PDF export of sick notes, which can then be easily uploaded to the ÖGK server. Since I am always directly affected by such legal changes in my own practice, I always incorporate corresponding new functions into praxisbox as soon as possible and pass them on to my colleagues in upgrades.

Many thousands of hours of work have gone into the praxisbox, not only by me but also by a professional programmer. In this webinar, I will demonstrate how to work with the praxisbox and introduce the new features.
